The other side of wellness.

Many times, you’ve seen BV305 speak about wellness throughout the months. Since 2018, it has become a big part of their message, and an important virtue they’ve put out in the world for their followers to see, and feel inspired to follow suit. In this movement, they have found serenity for themselves, and many of those that have become attached to it. Kind of ironic to think about; where an act of pushing and pulling tremendous weight, driving ones self to the brink of collapse in doing so, and exerting the body to unfathomable limits could in fact lead to a state of peace within, once the dust settles.

It’s a simple explanation really, and all boils down to one very detail that’s missed so often. The one thing that people so easily overlook. What is that? Mental stimulus.

Wellness, although primarily associated with fitness, and proper nutrition goes further than simply the physical. When you work out, you slim down, you tone up, you build muscle, and stamina. You shift the natural chemistry in your body, which allows it to endure more and makes your daily activities much easier, or at the very least, less excruciating. When you set a goal, and see progress, in whatever way you intend it to be, it brings forth a sense of satisfaction and overall accomplishment, leaving you fulfilled in how you see yourself. That fulfillment is the mental stimulus that truly encompasses wellness.

Wellness is not just eating healthy and being fit. Wellness is mental stability as well, and enjoyment in what you do. To some, it may be working out and eating clean; to others, it can be yoga and meditation. Neither is wrong, but both are different. This is going to a whole other spectrum, some would say. In truth, it isn’t too disimilar. The commonality with either method, is the purpose of mind, but practiced in an almost opposing way. Let’s put it into perspective. Meditation is used to strengthen the mind, and allows a person to control their mind as they would their body. The mind, not to be confused with the brain, can be trained just as purposefully.

Sit down for a moment and take in what’s around you. Now, consider that the unfocused mind takes in an incalculable amount of information at a time, that goes by unnoticed. It’s the less prominent things that aren’t realized. Not because they aren’t there, but because they’re less obtrusive due to the chaos of your other senses. So, what if you are able to focus on those less prominent things. Find a focal point, and consider it for a moment; its size, its shape, its composition, its color, its texture, understand it for what it is, its purpose, its importance. Notice the sounds around you have almost faded from existence? Notice that in the time you’ve read the last paragraph, you have forgotten this started as a fitness blog? The sounds haven’t disappeared, and this blog hasn’t changed, but now your focus is elsewhere. Because you have focused on something so deliberately, you have unintentionally drowned out everything around you.

A person who meditates, finds understanding, leading to fulfillment in their knowledge. A person who works out finds results, and fulfillment in their progress. Both have found fulfillment, and both are now pleased with their fulfillment, which leads to a healthier outlook in life, because they are in fact, happy with their achievements. Whether it be martial arts, or an overdue fishing trip, or a great book you’ve just read, your wellness is that which makes you happy. BV305 Wellness is not simply a push to find a better looking person in the mirror, BV305 Wellness is a push to find that which fulfills you on a much deeper level. Find your wellness.
